Reflection

Experience:
Most of the tasks from this module required us to use a lot of grids and guidelines which felt a bit tedious but overall I learned a lot about what goes into type formatting and creating fonts. For the final task especially, it was quite challenging managing my time according to the weeks and although I failed to do so, it gave me a chance to learn from my mistakes so that I can improve myself in the next semester.

Observation:
I've observed that typographic design requires more than just relying on your own "designer instincts" but a knowledge and understanding of what you're trying to accomplish in each task. For example, in the Type & Play task, you're required to understand and observe the material and ideate how to communicate it into a typeface.

Findings:
I've found this module was harder than I initially thought but I got to learn how to use new software such as Fontforge as well as increasing my skills with Adobe Illustrator which will be useful in the future.
