Project 2B: Poster Design

Instructions

Students are required to create a poster design composition using elements of photography, typography and vector graphics. The photography part will be from Digital Photography & Imagining whereas the typography and vector graphics are from the Illustration & Visual Narrative module.
Task

1. Research

We were tasked with gathering information on our topic and creating a mood board, picking a quote and summarizing our design concept. These were some pictures I found on Pinterest.

2. Sketches

The quote I chose was by a famous reformer of the 1500's named Martin Luther and I decided to make the poster have vintage vibes as something known as the printing press, a machine that uses ink to transfer images and text onto paper, was booming at the time.

3. Developing the Poster

I applied a lot of the same steps learned during the Double Exposure exercise from Week 7 but did a bit more with adjusting the layer masks and gradients and came up with some drafts before proceeding with the final artwork.

Reflections

The whole process was quite rushed as I was quite overloaded with tasks from other commitments and other assignments but I enjoyed the process of ideating and crafting the poster. My only regret is I wish I could've planned my time better.
